The PowerEdge R200 is an enterprise-class 1U rack server. Reduced power consumption. Easy to manage and easy to service, this server is ideal for network infrastructure or web development applications. It uses Intel Processor technology, featuring a 1333MHz FSB, 800MHz RAM and supporting the latest Intel Xeon Quad-Core processors. CPU's from Quad-Core processors up to 2.4GHz and Dual-Core processors up to 2.66GHz.

Processor compatibility

start with a minimal install using the latest Gentoo minimal cd

use cfdisk instead of fdisk, 100M boot, 2G swap, 60G root and the rest of the disk for data

download stage3-amd64 tarball

use mirrorselect to find the fastest rsync mirror

mirrorselect -s3 -b10 -o -D >> /etc/make.conf

SYNC="rsync:// rsync:// rsync://"

if you get this error during boot you need to compile the SATA drivers into the kernel and add doscsi to your boot string in grub.conf
